My Mother’s Admonition

The thing my mother warned me of came true.
My friend jumped off a bridge and I jumped too.
We held hands as we plunged into the stream.
She took her clothes off.  Lovely as a dream,
she looked at me and we dissolved in laughter.

We married and lived happily ever after.
