Talking of Monet

You say
"Monet could be a real plonker."

I recall some of the plonkers
I have known, wonder which of them
most closely resembled Monet.

Only for a moment
do I wonder this,

then I'm back to the photographs of Giverny
the house, the gardens,

Monet's dining room
painted in two shades of bright yellow,

the Clos Normand which Monet planted
with mauve tulips, purple tulips
interspersing them with tansy, white daisies, pink Oriental poppies,
and with blue flowers I don't know the name of.
