‘Hawaiian Wedding Song’

Blue Haiwaii

I remember
farting in the bath
that morning,
you telling me not to get
too emotional, and
the green spreadsheet
where you made me
itemize our expenses.
And arguing
about something.
Then you and me,
a camera man, a priest,
and his wife, our witness.
And a large Hawaiian man
playing the ukulele
and singing Elvis, off-key,
on Waimanolo beach:
‘This is the moment
  I’ve waited for’.
