A view of the times

A cyclic sense of time is so outdated;
Decay has been “out” since the Renaissance:
And Progress has been sorely overrated,
And static views don’t even stand a chance.

Postmodernists deny there is direction
And pragmatists deny they even care:
Most Christians have dispensed with Resurrection -
So maybe we’re not going anywhere.
